San Diego Welcomes Virgin America Flights

Filed under: Airlines, Destinations, News, Virgin — Rick Seaney @ 1:37 pm

Virgin America comes to San Diego.

What kind of effect will Branson’s baby have on competitors, and what new luxuries can passengers expect?

Virgin America has just pulled off a California trifecta: the innovative, low-cost airline, which already flies to San Francisco and Los Angeles, will add San Diego to its California collection. Flights between San Diego and San Francisco start in February.

Clever Richard Branson, the “Emperor” of Virgin, will continue to offer passengers the high tech and luxury-minded features they crave, as well as the cheap fares they demand: the initial San Diego-San Francisco flights will start at $39 one-way.
