Zagat Rates the Airlines and Airports

Filed under: Airlines, Airport — Rick Seaney @ 7:21 pm
You know Zagat; I think of it as “the people’s choice in reviews” (chances are you’ve been to a restaurant they’ve recommended). Well now the editors at Zagat have come out with their new survey on the top airlines and airports. Some winners and losers:

Best Airport: Tampa International. Worst: LaGuardia (by the way, I’m going to be doing my own take on all this, in my typical geek data fashion, in the near future).

Best and worst among the airlines (according to Zagat)? Coming right up.

The best airlines for Economy/Coach service? Here are the top-3:

  1. Midwest Airlines … followed by newcomer
  2. Virgin America, and
  3. Jetblue

“Apparently” people are not holding last winter’s sitting-on-the-tarmac-for-hours fiasco against JetBlue. And the best for Business/First Class? Virgin America in the #1 spot, followed by Continental and Hawaiian Airlines.

The worst? USAirways…for Economy AND First Class.
