The parent of American Airlines, the AMR Corp. says it will sell or spin-off its regional carrier, American Eagle, sometime next year. And, as it often the case with such pronouncements, AMR’s stock promptly rose. So what is American Eagle worth? |
Hard to say, at this point. American Eagle generates an annual revenue of more than $2-billion with its 1,700-flights a day throughout North America. Investors have been urging AMR to sell it, as a way to raise profits, but some analysts say rising fuel prices could effect American Eagle’s price tag…a price tag nobody’s revealing, just yet.
