Cheap Airfare Sales: Virgin America Has One That’s a Doozy

Filed under: Airfare Sales, Cheap Airfare Sales, Virgin America — Rick Seaney @ 6:24 pm

Don’t let this one slip through your fingers: Virgin America is offering 2-tickets for the price of one. Round-trip airfare for 2-people traveling between Los Angeles and New York for less than $340 (before taxes).

Virgin calls this their “diggNATION” sale, and it ends December 7th. There are some blackout dates, and you can find out more here. In terms of cheap airfare sales, we call this one a “doozy”!

    1. When do you think the best time is to buy tickets for flights between islands in Hawaii. We are going between Maui and Kauai in May of 08 and we are trying to get the best deal. Thanks, Doug Hatton

    2. There has been a prolonged inter-island airfare war (super cheap prices) between Aloha, Hawaiian and Go for several months, with a court ruling recently against Go for some shenanigans related to insider documents and a hefty judgement. Normally I would say wait a bit, but I think you should start looking now. You should be able to get well under $100 o/w from island to island.

    3. My wife and I are travelling from the Baltimore/Washington, D.C., area to St. Croix on June 14 and then on to St. Thomas on June 21 with a return on June 28. Should we book a roundtrip flight to one of the islands and then take a commuter flight between the two islands? What would you suggest? I’m not even sure which airlines fly into the US Virgin Islands. Thanks!

    4. Rick,
What is the best time to buy bussiness class Dallas>London or Dallas>London>Dublin> Dallas Sept/Oct 2008?

    5. Continental and American both fly into St Croix. Your round trip commuter flight to St Thomas should run you in the $80 per person range. This website has some good info http://www.vinow.com/
Cape Air will get you back and forth. You’ll be there in the off season so you might take a day trip to some of the British Virgin Islands. My girlfriend and I had Jost Van Dyke virtually all to ourselves a couple of summers ago. Also, while you’re on St Thomas have a meal at the North Drop and at Craig and Sally’s in Frenchtown…you won’t be sorry. Have fun!

    6. Aloha, Rick
I would like to know when you think is the best time to purchase a ticket from Kahului, Maui to Barcelona to arrive there the first week of May. I need to also purchase a return ticket from Rome to Kahului the 3rd week of May. I usually fly on United/Lufthansa to Italy.

Thanks for all your wonderful advice!

    7. Rick,
I’m planning a trip for my family of four to Hawaii for our first time. When is the best time to buy tickets and what would be considered a reasonable fare from Washington Dulles. What are your thoughts? Thank you

    8. Hi Rick and Team.
      great job wonderfully insightful.

I travel between Australia/Peru/USA and Asia a lot and still hav etrouble finding an airline company that can connect between Lima, Bangkok, Brisbane and Los Angeles or Chicago when I travel
Is there one airline that i can board that has conections between all of these ports or do I still need to change companies en route?
