This past November, U.S. airlines on-time arrival rate was 80%, 3-points better than a year ago. But according to the Dept. of Transportation (DOT), the airlines improved their figures by doing such things as canceling flights. In a Bloomberg News report, this is what’s called being “proactive.” But this probably won’t help when December’s figures come out. There were just too many snowstorms. Meanwhile, another November nugget of good news from the DOT: the rate of “mishandled baggage” also fell. |
