Did You Know? Where the Godzilla of Planes is Flying?

Filed under: Did You Know — Rick Seaney @ 3:16 pm

So, where all does the huge Airbus A380 fly, and where else will it fly later on this year?

The Airbus A380 has a rather storied past — as Tim Russert might put it, “Delays, delays, delays” but the “Big Bird” is now flying and will be flying more later this year, on the following routes (click “more” to see them):

  • Singapore Airlines Flights 220, 221 & 222 between Singapore (SIN) and Sydney (SYD) daily
  • Emirates Airlines Flights 201 & 202 between New York (JFK) and Dubai (DXB) daily starting October 1st, 2008
  • Emirates Airlines Flights 1 & 2 between London (LHR) and Dubai (DXB) daily starting December 1st, 2008

The flight schedules don’t show any other flights this year as deliveries of the plane have been slow, and, sorting out airports that can handle this “cruise liner” are still being worked out. But, look for a lot more flights in 2009 - I know I want to fly on this bird someday - just so I can say I did it…

  1. do you have any pictures and more details about the plane? I would love to see more info about this monster. I don’t know anything about it…
