Starting in May, JetBlue will begin flying out of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

Well, technically, JetBlue flies out of the Los Angeles area, from airports in Burbank, Ontario and Long Beach. Until now, though, the carrier hasn’t had a presence in the region’s busiest airport.

What does this mean? More options for passengers in a spread-out city like Los Angeles, for sure.

And, maybe some head-to-head competition between JetBlue and Virgin America. Now, that could be interesting; anyone up for a price-war? Cheap airfare sales?
