DO NOT EVER FLY VIVA AEROBUS. They will try to scam you and mistreat you. Plus, when taxes and fees are added in they're just as expensive.

The following is an e-mail I sent them, per their own suggestion, multiple times. I never heard back.

To Viva Aerobus,

I just spoke with Rafael Romero regarding my reservation with your airlines. As a regular traveler, I can safely say that my experience with your airlines today has been the worst I have ever had.

To summarize:
I received a call from someone telling me that my return flight was cancelled and re-booked.
I explained that the new date would not work with my schedule
At that point, I was told to call a new number. The fact that the person who contacted me had no power to help me is absurd.
When I called the number, the line was dead. The number I was given was 888-935-9848
I called repeatedly throughout the day, but the line was still dead. At this point I had been told that my flight was cancelled but I could not reach anyone capable of helping me! Imagine how upset I was already.
Next, I contacted the Austin airport. They gave me the number for the Viva Aerobus counter
I spoke with the agent there, who also had no means of helping me, had no way by which I could contact your reservations and left me with nothing. How can it be that your own employees cannot contact you? Imagine how much more upset I was at this point.
This evening, I finally got through on 888-935-9848
I waited for 54 minutes, Rafael answered and I asked if he could re-book our tickets.
He put me on hold. A few seconds later the line went dead. After an hour of waiting I had been hung up on. Try to imagine how angry I am at this point
I call back, I wait again and Rafael answers. He explains that he can only refund my money, but that it will take 45 to 60 business days to refund!?! Now I'm livid.
I demand to speak with a manager, but he cannot transfer me to anyone. I insist that he put his supervisor on the line, but still no one is available. Now I'm outraged and livid!
This email is my final recourse. I was told to email you in order to have my refund expedited. It gives the appearance that you all hope your customers will forget about the refund. Well, I will not.

After this experience, I will never fly with Viva Aerobus again. I will make sure that none of my friends, family, or co-workers ever fly Viva Aerobus. In fact, i will gladly post this e-mail all over the internet if I do not hear back from you and if you do not refund my money, in full, in 15 days. You cannot expect to run an airlines while treating your customers so terribly and having sub-standard customer support and such a complete lack of communication infrastructure.

BEWARE of Viva Aerobus. I booked flights to Mexico for Christmas for myself and my family, and Viva Aerobus has changed the time of every single segment, some by as much as an entire day! We were never notified of these changes....I just happened to check my itinerary on line and found out that they had been changed by chance. These arbitrary schedule changes have rendered our tickets entirely useless since we are now scheduled to depart a day earlier than we scheduled and return a day later than we scheduled. Although VivaAerobus's terms and conditions say that if a flight is moved by more than 3 hours, the customer is entitled to a refund, we requested that we receive our money back and were denied. We were only offered VivaAerobus credit. Even more frustrating is that when we asked to speak to a supervisor, we were told repeatedly that there was not a supervisor on site or that they were not authorized to transfer our call. Both my mother and I have tried to work this out with VA and have had absolutely no cooperation. We are now going to have to investigate our legal options.

Moral of the story - this is a budget airline for a reason....they are dishonest!
