Godzilla Plane Comes to London (Okay, the A380)

March 18, 2008 | Posted in: Airline News,Passengers

The world’s biggest jet flew from Singapore to London’s Heathrow today. This was the plane’s first commercial European flight.

Up next? Godzilla goes to Tokyo (now that makes sense!).

Why do some call this Airbus A380, Godzilla?

Because it’s a monster of a plane, that’s why!

Keep reading, and I’ll explain (just click on “more”).

First of all, this is a plane as tall as a 7-story building. And, it can seat 800 passengers.

However, the way Singapore Airlines has it configured, they seat a mere 471 (a lot of space gets taken up by their 12-luxury suites, not to mention the spacious business class).

For now, Singapore Airlines is the jet’s sole operator; but the Dubai-based Emirates Airline will get a Godzilla of its own, come August.
