Personally I do not care if the airlines charge fees for cell phone and internet use on the plane. It is the constant "creative" addition of fees for lousy snacks, pillows, blankets, headphones, aisle seats, seats near the front, etc as well as the daily increase of fuel charges that drives me up the wall. What is next - a fee to stuff a bag in the overhead bin? A fee to use the bathroom? Reminds me of the bad old days when public "ladies" rooms charged to use the toilet. They did not charge men to use the mens' stalls - or at least not the urinals, but women had to pay a nickel (or a penny in GB) to use a toilet. Eventually that faded away with claims of gender discrimination - not clever enough to figure out how to charge for urinal use I guess. There was always one that was free in the ladies room - usually very dirty - usually women coming out of a pay toilet would look around to see if someone was waiting to use the stall - and hold open the door. I can see it now - pay toilets on the airlines -one with just a urinal will be free for men, the others - will charge - and there will be a lot of holding the door open going on - leading to what - arrest at the cabin door upon landing!!!
