We told you about this yesterday: Continental is pulling planes, dropping routes and cutting jobs. And we also told you, the airline’s CEO and President won’t take any salary (or bonuses) for the rest of the year. A former exec with Continental had this to say:
Meanwhile, over at Sky Talk, the Allied Pilots Association weighed in:
I’ve heard some say that this is really just a symbolic gesture, that it’s not going to do much for all those people losing their jobs. Perhaps so, but it does show the highest levels of management are willing to make sacrifices – and in my book, that’s a splendid gesture. |
