Los Angelenos like to think they’re pretty cool, but they seemed to melt yesterday when Dubai’s Emirates airline flew into town — with its Godzilla-like aircraft — the A380. What’s not to like? It has onboard showers, first class suites, mini-bars, and more.

Like statistics? Well, the double-decker Airbus is about 240 feet long and 80 feet high, with 489 seats.

Cost for a roundtrip first class seat from New York to Dubai can be as much as $18,000, according to the LA Times. But that does include a shower.

So far, Emirates is only flying this huge plane to New York; smaller planes will be used when they begin service to LA and San Francisco, but that could change depending on the demand.
