Airline Complaint Letter of the Year

January 27, 2009 | Posted in: Airline News,Ask Rick
UPDATE: The letter writer has just received an unusual invitation – read all about it here.

Everyone’s been sending me this (it’s been featured on Gadling and in UK newspapers) – and now, I pass it on to you.

Context: a Virgin passenger who flew from Mumbai to London didn’t like the food and let Sir Richard know about it. The letter begins, “Dear Mr. Branson” and here are some highlights:

Look at this Richard. Just look at it.” [Branson's attention is directed to image at left]

“I imagine the same questions are racing through your brilliant mind as were racing through mine on that fateful day. What is this? Why have I been given it? What have I done to deserve this?”

The author adds that the surprise appearance of another dish was not unlike seeing “your hamster… and it’s not breathing.” Read the entire letter (and see more pictures), right here.

Branson apparently got a chuckle out of this tongue-in-cheek missive, called the author and pointed out that the food he disliked so much was actually award winning cuisine…
