The Airlines have Improved in Every Way (A New Study Says So)

April 6, 2009 | Posted in: Airline News,Ask Rick,List

Remember 2007? That was the worst year for airline complaints, going back more than a decade.

The good news is, last year was much better. Of course, a lot fewer people were flying in 2008 – but let’s not quibble. I mean, there were fewer chances to be bumped from flights and fewer bags to lose – so there were fewer complaints.

This authors of the “Airline Quality Rating” report – professors from Wichita State and Saint Louis University who developed their study back in 1991 – rank airlines using 15 criteria that are most important to passengers (mishandled luggage, on-time performance and the like).

You can see the entire report here – and click “more” to see the report’s rankings of the nation’s leading 17 airlines.

Note: the authors say US Airways is the most improved carrier.
