Yes, You Can Get a Meal for 5-Bucks at the Airport – in Philly, Anyway

Sometimes it seems like the only thing you can get in an airport for about $5 is a bottle of water. Food? Forget it – but that’s changing in Philly.

“Wow! $5 Chow” is the name of the new food promotion at Philadelphia International Airport -you’ll see it at about 50 of the airport restaurants there. Sample $5 meals include eggs and coffee, a basil/mozzarella sandwich, dessert and coffee – things like that.

It makes for a nice change from $8 sandwiches and $3 candy bars.

And I see that a similar program is underway at LaGuardia as well. Let’s hope the idea catches on every bit as quickly as bag fees (ouch – did I just say that?).
