I saw recently where US citizens with a felony conviction may not be allowed to travel into Canada, even with a valid passport. Is this true?
Millard,
Here’s a link to the U.S. State Dept.’s travel site for Canada: http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1082.html
As you will see, it says, “Anyone with a criminal record (including misdemeanors or Driving While Impaired (DWI) charges may be barred from entering Canada and must obtain a special waiver well in advance of any planned travel.” It’s followed by a link on how to obtain a waiver information.
Hope this helps,
Rick
