Mental Health Break: Dating on Airplanes

Okay, it’s not quite Friday, but I think we could all use a little comic relief in the wake of airfare hikes and airport lunacy…

Anyway, as reported on MSNBC, Air New Zealand has designated one of its regular flights from Los Angeles to Auckland earlier this month as a “Matchmaking Flight” – and it quickly sold out.

There was champagne and chocolates for the singles onboard, plus getting-to-know-you games, singing and dancing by the crew, and much, much more.

I can’t tell if Air New Zealand has another dating flight in the works, though I suspect there will be more, because 1.) a good time was apparently had by all and 2.) the airline’s slogan is, “Make Flying Fun Again”. Sounds like mission accomplished to me (and if anyone out there was on this flight, tell us about it).
