Raise Your Hand if You’ve Ever Fainted on a Plane

I ask about this, of course, because of that story about the British Airways flight over the weekend – during which SIX passengers fainted. All were scattered throughout economy class on the Newark to London flight, and as far as I know were not related or known to each other.

Turned out, nothing was wrong – a hazmat team came aboard and determined that – and the six passengers were able to continue their journeys.

My question: how did anyone know these people had fainted? I imagine I would have mistaken them for…well, napping passengers.

And what was it? No one’s sure, though there is some speculation a stomach bug was the blame (I doubt that – it seems to me a stomach bug would keep you racing down the aisles, not sleeping in your seat).

Have any of you ever fainted on an aircraft? If so, why?
