Ryanair’s Sexy Calendar is Criticized – Oh, My

The folks at Ryanair sure do love a good fight – or at least, a little controversy: remember the uproar over their announcement that they wanted to put pay toilets on their planes?

Now the low cost European airline is coming out with a 2010 calendar, featuring its own “scantily clad” employees. The proceeds will go to charity.

One Ryanair spokesman referred to the calendar as a “work of art” – which provoked laughter from an Irish women’s group, who called it “irredeemably old-fashioned”.

Ryanair’s CEO Michael O’Leary, who is, uh, known for his colorful remarks, said the calendar is empowering for young women. Gotcha.
