The odds you could be bumped from a flight? In a word: slim.

Still, “getting bumped” happens to thousand every year, and you can read all about your “bumping chances” on specific airlines at a fascinating website called the Book of Odds – its tagline is, “the odds of everyday life” (and it includes everything from the odds you’ll date a supermodel to the odds of having a golf cart accident).

Anyway, back to bumping – according the site, the odds of a passenger being bumped from a flight both voluntarily and involuntarily are about 1 in 872. Chances of being bumped against your will are about 1 in 10,040.

Top 4 airlines where you are least likely to be involuntarily bumped: JetBlue, Hawaiian, AirTran and Alaska.
