List of WiFi Airlines and Planes – and Prices, Too

November 23, 2009 | Posted in: ABC News, Airlines, Airplanes, List, WiFi

Sick and tired of trying to figure out which planes on which airlines have WiFi?

Problem solved. Just check out this definitive list from ABCNews.com: it names names – airlines and specific aircraft – and tells you what it costs, too.

As I reported earlier, so far only AirTran and Virgin America are completely WiFi-ed. There is a difference between them, though – some sites deemed “inappropriate” are blocked on AirTran, but you can go anywhere you want with Virgin America’s service (but please! – be respectful of your seatmates).

FYI, UA has finished Wi-Fi deployment on all of it’s p.s. birds. It might be helpful to note that p.s. birds only fly JFK-LAX and JFK-SFO.

Also, Gogo offers a discounted rate (on UA at least) for red-eye flights. My SFO-JFK flight leaving at 10:30pm had Wi-Fi available for $7.95 ($5 off) on a 6 hour flight. It was labeled as the “late night special.”

    Andrew,
Thanks for the tips. Also, I’ve been noticing a lot of coupons and discounts for WiFi all over the web, so if anyone plans to use it, nose around a bit and save some money.
    Thanks for writing,
    Rick

Delta now claims to offer WiFi on almost all of its airplanes:
