Where to Eat in the Airport – the New “GateGuru” Dining App

December 8, 2009 | Posted in: Airport, Customer Service, Tips and Tricks

You’ve been here before – trudging through the airport, trying to find a decent place to eat.

You noticed a couple of good spots when you first entered the airport, but you figured you’d better get the ordeal of going-through-security over first, and now – you can’t find a thing.

Well here’s a tip: try the new GateGuru airport restaurant-finding iPhone app, and never go hungry again! Well…you know what I mean.

This app, which costs 2-bucks, lets you know where restaurants are (and shops and other services), but best of all, it lets you know if they are located in front of or past the security lines.

You can even review the restaurants (yes, there are some good ones in airports). But I appreciate just knowing where they are – goodness knows, the signage in most airports is completely useless.

And GateGuru covers most airports – the app’s developer, Dan Gellert, sent me the airport list, and it includes the top 85 in the U.S., everything from Atlanta, O’Hare, LAX, JFK all the way down to Greensboro, Colorado Springs and Gerald R. Ford International in Grand Rapids.

If you give GateGuru a try, let me know what you think.
