Angry Over Airline Fees? Sorry, But it’s a Fee-Friendly World

airline fees angry

Nobody likes airline fees – well, except for the airlines.

It’s a way for them to create some badly needed revenue in this lousy economy of ours, and I get it. But passengers hate the bag fees and paying for snacks and all. All I can say is, get used to it.

We live in a fee-friendly world. I was reminded of this by some recent stories in the news, and maybe you’ve seen them, too:

That new federal report about how 42% of us won’t switch to another cell provider because of those ugly “early termination” fees; or how credit card companies have “shifted penalty fee structures to charge 9 in 10 people the highest fee possible if they pay late, while projecting the appearance of lower fees”; and pity the poor University of California undergrads who recently saw fees jump by $2,500 – not to mention the UC grad students who will probably soon be paying an extra $8,000 in fees.

Heck, even Hawaii is poised to start charging fees at a couple of parks in Oahu that are tourist magnets.

There’s a million more examples out there, but – you see what I mean.
