Airport Wedding — Who Says Romance is Dead?

December 22, 2009 | Posted in: Frequent Flyer,Passengers

airport wedding romance

An engaged couple were about to end their long distance relationship — by getting married (she lives in Corpus Christi, he lives in Toledo).

The only question was, where to do it? They had the license, but no venue.

William Acosta, the groom-to-be suggested offhandedly that, since they spent so much time saying hello and goodbye in Ohio and Texas, why not just get married at the airport? If he meant it as a joke, too bad — his fiancee Robyn Moore decided to surprise him by doing just what he said.

So when the groom-to-be arrived at Corpus Christi International yesterday, he was greeted by Moore, wearing a fetching white gown; a justice of the peace; assorted friends and well wishers — and of course, a couple of cameras (you can see the video here).

Turns out Acosta was delighted with the set-up (despite being attired in jeans and a sweater), and they were promptly married. Best wishes!
