So a Fellow Walks Up to Security with 44 Lizards in His Pants…

Yes, a German man stuffed 44 small lizards in his underwear before trying to board a flight home from New Zealand. The problem was (other than the discomfort factor for man and reptile) the geckos and skinks in his pants were protected species.

New Zealanders take their vulnerable wildlife very seriously, and the man will spend 14 weeks in prison, and pay a $3,500 fine. The sentence was meant to be a deterrent, and I’m sure it will be.

The fine, by the way, is believed to be more than he could have made by selling the little creatures.
