Goodbye, Fufu Berry – Alaska Dumps Jones Soda for Coke

Fans of the Jones Soda Company, home of such flavors as Blue Bubble Gum, Green Apple and yes – Fufu Berry – are out of luck on Alaska Airlines. The carrier is switching to Coca-Cola products because that’s what folks wanted.

Alaska appears to have served only the “tamer” varieties of Jones Soda, such as Lemon Lime, Cream and Cola, but still…

The change will take place on March 1. From that point on, you’ll have a choice of various Cokes and Sprites (you know, regular, Diet, Zero) – and yes, it will be free.

I am sorry to say that Coke doesn’t offer a single blue cola – and no Fufu flavor, either.

Disappointing news. This was one of my favorite things about flying Alaska Airlines. Jones is a higher quality product and was something I looked forward to during the flight. I’ll be going back to sparkling water from now on, but won’t be happy about it! Who are the “folks” that wanted this changed… boo to them. C’mon, really, Sprite…boring.

“Folks” is customers – apparently Alaska personnel just kept getting requests from the passengers, and they are switching to honor those requests – at least, that’s what they say. I do know from my readers that Jones had an awful lot of fans.

    Regards,
    Rick
