Flight Canceled after Flight Attendants Fight on Plane

February 26, 2010 | Posted in: Delta,Flight Attendants,Passengers,Travel Safety

Can you believe this? Maybe I should have titled this post, “Smackdown!”

Two female flight attendants got into “a fistfight” on the plane (according to WLFI TV in Rochester).

The brawl took place yesterday aboard a Delta Connection flight operated by Pinnacle Airlines, as the plane was at the airport in Rochester. The passengers had expected to take off for Atlanta, but once the fists began to fly, that was the end of that.

Said one of those passengers, “The pilot decided to kick everybody off the plane – they told us we had to get off the plane because stewardesses were fighting.”

A pinnacle spokesman is quoted by the TV station as saying, the flight attendants will be “off duty” while an investigation continues, adding, the acts reported were “not acceptable”. I’ll say!

And what of those poor, inconvenienced passengers? They were eventually put on other flights but – some of them were really inconvenienced. Again, we turn to a quote from the Rochester station:

“You had someone who was getting married and was supposed to be in Cancun. There was a couple that was supposed to be on a cruise ship. Non-refundable. They left crying.” – Passenger aboard the “fighting flight attendant” flight, 2-25-10

Disgraceful. And no, we don’t know what the fight was about.

As you saw, the post originally ended with, “And no, we don’t know what the flight was about.” It’s been corrected to say, “fight”.

    I don’t if it’s a “Freudian” slip or a “Fridayan” slip meaning – it’s been a loooong week.

Have a great weekend, Brenda (and everyone else, too)

Would love to know what the fight was about? Is it possible that one of the flight attendant was not eager to leave Rochester ‘s airport because of the weather forecast? Or was this a “marketing” gimmick, indicating that the punchline is: “Pinnacle Airlines is a Not Nonsense Airline.”

We still don’t know what this was about – all we do know is, it was the pilot’s call to cancel the flight. If I learn anything more, I’ll update.
