“Kiss that Closed Airport” Guy Fined; What about Security Guy?

airport kiss security

We already told you that the graduate student who slipped past security in January for one last kiss with his departing girlfriend at Newark Airport has pleaded guilty and been fined – but what about the security guard who left his post that allowed that to happen?

He is being disciplined, according to the AP – but not fired. He was placed on administrative leave, and we hear he returns to work this weekend.

No word on whether he was paid or not during his leave. As for the grad student, it’ll take more than a guilty plea to kill his romance.

  1. Interesting incident that happened. How unfortunate for the graduate student to be paying a heavy price, for that last kiss with his girlfriend. But at the same time, he should have been following the rules.

    He should have, indeed.

Oh my. What has the world come to when a goodbye kiss can cause such a fuss? I say, “Cheers”, to the grad student for being such a romantic. And I say, “Cheers”, to the girlfriend for obviously being worth it.” We need a little more love in this world – and that’s no fiction.

When the day comes that we are too paralyzed with the fear of authority to kiss each other across some line drawn by paranoia – then the human race has outlived it usefulness and should go the way of the dinosaurs.

But until then I say – “What the world needs now, is love sweet love…”

    Richard,

I’m all for love, too…but as they say, “there’s a time and a place”.

    Thanks for writing,
    Rick
