Fans Rally to Save Frontier Airlines Tail Animals

March 26, 2010 | Posted in: Airfare News,Airline News,Favorites,News

frontier airlines tail animals

Pictured, left, is Frontier Airlines’ spokesmodel Larry the Lynx. Handsome devil, isn’t he?

Anyway, Larry, Grizwald the Bear, Jack the Rabbit and the other wildlife creatures that adorn Frontier’s aircraft could be in danger – and employees and fans rallied today in downtown Denver to try and save them.

You see, ever since Republic Airways bought Frontier – and its now sister-carrier, Midwest – there’s been talk about re-branding both airlines into one new entity, with an all new name, logo, and all the rest. And that means, bye-bye Larry and his colleagues.

So the rallying cried of the day, says the Denver Post, has been “Save Our Animals, Save Our Tails”. Will they soon be saying, “Save the Cookies” in Milwaukee?

If you’re interested in “meeting” Frontier’s animals, bio’s are posted on their website like this one, for Grizwald the bear.

Grizwald the Bear

  • Weight: More than it should be
  • Quote: “You gonna eat that?”
  • Favorite Pastimes: Shaking his groove thing, hibernating, belly rubs
  • Pet Peeves: Beehives, bear-skin rugs, delays on the runway

(Quit groaning, I didn’t write it)

Please!!! “Save Our Animals, Save Our Tails”!! My family LOVES the animals! It’s so exciting to discover which Animal will grace each plane we fly on..kids love to fly with them! Frontier truly has the most beautiful fleet of aircraft in the entire world! Why? Because of the magnificent animal scenes!!!

Frontier Airlines animals are a marking genus. I love the planes I love the commercials. They are such a positive image not only for the company but for Denver. I am a loyal Frontier customer but if the animals go….I go somewhere else.

  4. Diane Tippens says:

I was a loyal Delta airline fan when i moved from Atlanta to Denver and seeing the commercials with the animals made be decide to try Frontier. I have been loyal Frontier customer every since. I look forward to seeing what animal I will be flying with it makes happy. If the animals go away I go away as a customer it is what truly makes me happy to fly with Frontier.

    Shari,

Seems a bit extreme but it certainly shows the hold those animals have on people…

    Thanks for writing,
    Rick
