Earlier today, I got the privilege to chat with the folks at NPR (National Public Radio). I know, it’s April 1^st — but, this is NOT a joke. It was quite fun and very lively!

This discussion was on NPR’s always fascinating call-in news chat show, “Talk of the Nation“. The show broadcasts at other times during the week and you can find your local schedules here.

I discussed airfare, the cheapest ones of course, and international travel to Europe and Asia and had a few tips and tricks for everyone. The broadcast also included Euorpean travel guru Rick Steves, and we answered a variety of phones calls.

Listen for me on Erik Hastings’ Travel Show, at about 3:50pm (EST). I’ll be on for about oh, 5- to 8-minutes, dispensing my “wisdom” which will no doubt include plenty of info about cheap airfare sales, and lots of my patented travel tips.

Today at approximately 4pm CDT, I’ll be on (right after the Brewers game) News Talk 1310 Madison (WIBA).

I have done several radio spots and shows now in the past 6 months and have had great fun doing them.

It is the strangest thing, they give you about 30 seconds of notice and then you are live. After a long airtime segment I put down the phone and it seems like 10 seconds, its almost surreal.

I really enjoy the call in format (not sure this show will have callers). I am most comfortable, helping people make good air travel purchasing decisions one on one, but I am getting a bit better as time goes on being more general and in this case regional.

I usually spend a couple of hours researching interesting prices in our database close to the area so I can provide some quality deal information.
